About Rick Reinert

Rick Reinert’s formal art education took place in the early 1970’s at Western Kentucky University.  His art education continued to evolve over the years, and he exhibited large expressionistic works in one-man shows throughout Germany and Canada.rick-painting2

After his initial success, Rick took time off to establish two small businesses and to raise his family.  Through a series of circumstances related to his business, he became a highly visible and vocal proponent of campaign finance reform, and was the subject of a number of articles including a cover story in Time Magazine in February 2000.  During this time his commitment to painting was renewed, and he began painting again…often through the night.  Rick began to establish the unique and passionate style that he is known for today.

Rick has won numerous awards throughout his career including one of the top 100 paintings in the “Paint America” competition and one of the top 200 paintings in the national “Oil Painters of America” exhibition.  Throughout his career Rick has won numerous “Best of Show” awards including the Mayor’s Purchase Award at the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition in Charleston, SC.

Most recently, in May 2016, Rick was selected to be the featured artist at the Augusta Symphony Auction in Augusta, Georgia.  He painted the old Miller Theatre, inspired by an old newspaper clipping of folks standing in line to see the movie, “Three Faces of Eve” which premiered there in 1957.  All proceeds went towards renovation of the theater.  It will eventually become the new home for the Augusta Symphony Orchestra.

Rick’s work hangs in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and Middle East.

Rick’s work can be viewed at Reinert Fine Art in Charleston, SC and at Reinert Fine Art in Blowing Rock, NC.
